AC 2011 Options

The RGC association is happy to announce the upcoming AC 2011, which will take place on April 16th and 17th.

This 6th convention dedicated to 8, 16 and 32-bit vintage computers will be located in Congis (France) in a friendly atmosphere. As usual, software and hardware presentations will be featured, as well as the yearly Medieval Mayhem tournament (on Atari 2600). You'll also be able to discover and play freely on machines from those iconic brands.

For 3 years, the AC has included a gaming-centered speed-coding contest. Previous editions have seen the birth of ambitious projects. A new challenge in 2011? We'll let you know more soon.

If you're an Atari, Amiga, Commodore, Amstrad, MSX, Thomson (or any other brand you'd like to promote) enthusiast, you'll be welcome.

Be sure to circle the date on your calendar not to miss this must-attend event for the retro-gaming community.

Il faut bien sur que cela rentre dans le cadre de la convention, à savoir la rétro informatique ludique (ordinateurs grand publique anciens) et le retro-coding (toutes machines ludiques rétro confondues ...)

Votre rendez vous Rétro-informatique ludique, l'AC !

Les 16 et 17 Avril prochains aura lieu la 6ème édition de l'AC ! La manifestation aura lieu à Congis-sur-Thérouanne (Seine et Marne - 77440) à proximité de Paris. Les inscriptions sont ouvertes : ne perdez pas un seul instant pour vous inscrire, les places sont limitées !

Horaires :
Samedi : 10h00 jusque tard (fermeture de l'accueil à 18h00)
Dimanche : 10h00-18h00

Le concept ?

Il est vrai qu'au début l’AC était une convention tournée essentiellement vers la marque ATARI, mais depuis trois ans, nous avons élargi à parts égales l’accès pour d’autres marques emblématiques de l’informatique des années 80-90
Donc, fans d’AMIGA, d’AMSTRAD, de MSX et autre, votre participation est la bienvenue !
La formule reste alors la même : le temps d’un week-end, et dans une ambiance conviviale, vous pourrez vous rencontrer, discuter, échanger, jouer, coder.


La convention se déroule autour de 2 thèmes

Une speed coding party mettant en compétition différentes équipes sur le développement d’un jeu sur la machine de votre choix dont la thématique et les spécificités sont dévoilé dans le sujet (à voir sur notre forum).

Et toujours du jeu ! De nombreuses machines seront aussi disponibles pour du jeu en libre accès. De la VCS 2600 à la Jaguar, du Commodore – C64 à l’Amiga 1200, de l’Amstrad CPC à la GX-4000, et tant d’autres… vous ferons revivre votre jeunesse, vos longues soirées entres amis, voire même vos crises de nerfs.

L'AC c'est toujours l'occasion de pouvoir ramener sa machines préférée, de la démonter ou encore de la montrer avec des logiciels/jeux. Si vous désirez prendre place au sein de la convention, toute l'équipe de l'association RGC vous accueillera pour vous offrir un espace adaptée.

L’inscription à l’AC 2011 doit se faire obligatoirement par notre formulaire en ligne. La validation de votre inscription se confirmera par payement (chèque ou Paypal, nous contacter pour autre). Toutes les informations pratiques (forfaits, plans d’accès, horaires de trains, etc.) sont indiquées sur notre site Internet et sur notre forum dans la rubrique dédiée, pour les informations les plus particulières (organisation de co-voiturage, préparation du coin achat/échange/vente, etc.).
Nous vous invitons à vous inscrire au plus vite et à nous contacter le plus rapidement possible pour toute demande particulière (projet, matériel spécifique à présenter, etc.). Ceci nous permettra de nous organiser au mieux.

A propos de l’AC
Lancée en 2002 sous le nom de Jaguar Connexion, la manifestation ne réunie alors qu’une poignée de passionnés par la marque Atari. Cinq éditions plus tard, la Jaguar Connexion devient AC Connexion, pour englober toutes les machines – consoles et ordinateurs – de la célèbre marque. Utilisateurs, collectionneurs et simples curieux se réunissent désormais au cours d’une manifestation annuelle. Les années passant l’AC tente de se moderniser afin d’offrir aux participants une expérience toujours unique.

A propos de l’association Retro-gaming Connexion
Fondée en janvier 2004 par six passionnés aux expériences et origines diverses (consultant, animateur multimédia, technicien pisciniste), cette association loi 1901 s’est toujours donnée comme objectif d’organiser des manifestations d’échanges humain. Le succès remporté par les précédentes conventions a permis à l’association RGC de devenir un acteur incontournable du retro-gaming en France. Aujourd’hui forte d’une équipe de 11 membres, l’association a diversifié ses domaines d’activité qui vont aujourd’hui de l’organisation de manifestation (l’AC et la RGC), à la tenue d’atelier multimédia hebdomadaire, à la conception de packaging jusqu’à l’édition de Jeux Vidéo.

The Retro-Gaming computer Meeting : the AC

On the 16th and the 17th of April the sixth edition of the AC takes place ! As usual the convention is in Congis-sur-Thérouanne (in the near of Paris - France). Registrations are opened: do not waste any time and register, places are limited.

Opening times:
Saturday: 10:00am french time until 6:00 pm
Sunday: 10:00 am until 6:00pm

The concept ?
At the beginning the AC was an ATARI-branded convention. However the convention is now opened to all computer brands of the 80’s & 90’s. Amigamaniacs, Amstradalcoholics, MSX eaters and other are more than welcome to celebrate, exchange, debate, play, code and more during a week-end.
Two major activities:
One speed coding party, teams from different countries on different machines will have to code a game around the TETRIS theme. Please contact us for more information.

Free-play as usual lots of computer and gaming systems of the 80’s and early 90’s will be at your disposal; from the VCS 2600 to the Jaguar, from the commode 64 to the Amiga 1200, from CPC-128 to the GX-4000, and much more. Take a place in a journey to the numerous hours of your youth, revive all the victories, failures, joys and frustrations that have made your most precious memories.
But the AC is also the occasion to bring your favorite machine in order to present it, repair it or to improve it. The Retro-gaming Connexion team will always have a place for you and your dream machine.

How to participate?
The registration to the AC 2011 has to be made through our registration form. Your participation will be validated once we received your payment through paypal (for any other payment solutions please contact us).
As validation of your participation you will receive all the access information you need (access map, train times, etc…).
We invite you all to register as soon as possible and to contact us for any particular inquiries you may have (projects, demonstrations, etc…)

About the AC
Launched in 2002 under the name of Jaguar Connexion, a gathering around the Atari 64-bits gaming system. The Jaguar Connexion had 5 editions and became rapidly a major retro-gaming and retro-computering convention in France. Now the Convention is cold the AC is more focused on retro-computers, while the Retro-gaming Connexion is focused on the Retro-gaming systems.

Founded in February 2004 the association always on creating retro-gaming event with a human flair where the gathering and exchange between the people is the main focus. The past conventions made the Retro-gaming Connexion a major actor on the Retro-gaming Scene in France. I would, if I didn't have another 4000-odd words to write by next week, and a juggling convention to attend this weekend.

Just think though, while you guys will be staring at monitors and playing old games, I'll be out in a field swinging burning objects round my head. But I think one thing is for sure: alcohol and good times will be had by both groups

I was trying to figure out how Tyrant was there in spirit, at one point I wondered if he was in some for of liquid or secret device within 'the button' but I couldn't convince SH3 to crack it open so we could drink the gooey middle... I suspect sleep depravation may have started to take its toll Very impressive button.. I still havn't had a go of Superfly

Glad you liked the 'pint' Zero your help has been much appreciated. It was a top event and worth the drive and all the motoring horrors we whitnessed (and in some cases failed to capture on film )

I am still buzzing from the coding party feel of it. MOAR WANT MOAR!

Will upload my coding entry as is (mostly) tomorrow, far too pleased with myself
