sh3-rg 6 Report post Posted November 24, 2011 It's the Jaguar's 18th birthday today. To celebrate, Reboot of Jagware are pleased as punch to unveil The RAPTOR Engine. RAPTOR is a high performance RISC-based API designed to leverage the performance of the Jaguar's custom RISC chips in an easy and flexible manner. It also utilises LinkoVitch's new U-235 sound engine. It's not finished yet, there's much more functionality to add in future, but we believe this to be a huge step forward in bringing Jaguar game design within the reach of many more people. To give you an idea of the possibilities, our latest game, Kobayashi Maru, was implemented using an early version of RAPTOR. Head over to the RAPTOR page to learn more. Feedback is most welcome! Cyrano Jones 4 Report post Posted December 5, 2011 Great! Will definitely have a look at it! Where can I download it? Is it open source? Hi Seb, ask Zero to add you to the RAPTOR beta-test forum. The eventual goal will be to release it as open source, but not yet. I'd like to add a few more things to it before that happens, and get more people using it. There is also a whole load of documentation to write We've already had Matmook add a whole new library for animations to it, and hopefully GrooveyBee will make a C wrapper to lower the entry point even more.
