  1. If you ask SebRmv nicely, I think he'll explain all of this to you in English ;)

    Hi,

I did translate it but can't get it to work  I am also a windows user so that's hard aswell.

Could someone make diskimage pre-configurered to use with vmware player (=freeware) with linux and this xgcc configurered they right way ? This would be ULTRA COOL to start developing.

Or can someone tell me how to get the DOS compiler to work 3.3.6 ? These can be downloaded at djgpp compilers for DOS but I don't know if these are the same as seb uses.

I don't care if I need to use linux but with a pre-configurered working diskimage I could play around and it's easy to take with me on my laptop or other pc's

    What do you think ?

  2. I did see patrice madrin on this board cool... he has done some excelent coding.

Somethings I would like to see on the jag would be:

    sdl port

    quake engine

    mesa / opengl

    gameboy emu

pmdoom/hexen all look very cool :)

I hope some of this stuf wil make it to the jag even when quake will run very slow....

  3. The first 20 copies of the JagCF will be reserved for developers ; they will be released earlier than those intended for the public.

However, the hardware, documentation and tools will be the same for both releases (except if problems are discovered in the first release) ; all JagCFs will be usable for developement.

I'll let SCPCD answer the other questions.

Will there be list to signin to be able register for a first developers version?

  4. Hi,

Do you speak about the TOS from Matthias Domin for the TJE card?

Yes, it is a running TOS and only some patches must be modified. But i think, not all BIOS functions are fully functional. The hardware is different. I expect, that some BIOS channels will not work. Maybe some other features had the same problem.

I would suggest to take a different way. The patches of the TOS, Matthias has used, had to be modified for the JagCF card. E.g. the bios functions for access tracks on mass storage are patched for the IDE port on the TJE card and they should also be modified for the CF card. For other bios functions, like serial support new patches are needed. In think, it is more easy to add this modification to the EmuTOS project. The same with the video driver. I expect, replacing the VDI screen driver in EmuTOS is much more easy than assemble the right patches for a TOS from Atari.

I think, we should ask the developers of EmuTOS if we can add another hardware target (Jaguar) and then add changes for the Jaguar hardware to the EmuTOS source tree. EmuTOS is a free (GPL) TOS replacement, based on the sources which ar publiched caldera.

    Best regards

    Michael

sounds good let us know what the emutosdevekopers gonna do

  5. Perhaps porting the TOS on Jaguar can be a good thing, with that we can use all 'properly' written programs. But the Vdi and Aes part will be a little hard, especially if we want to use Jag possibilities.

Perhaps i can use Devpac on my Jaguar  in the futur who knows...

    GT  Devpac

We do have already a TOS for the Jaguar :) only this version needs to be changed a little bit.

Video mode, now uses 2 screens in st-medium resolution, must be patched to use st-low, st-medium in 1 screen can be done, I have seen high resolution modes done already...

    - add JagCF support

    - ramdisk support (was already implemented in this TOS)

    - serial/midi support

I think when we could run TOS we can use STING/STIK aswell ;-) and CAB/Highwire ....

  6. Yes ;)

Ray has done the LZ78 version after i have translated his LZ77 code, if i got a little free time i will do it for the LZ78 version.

    GT :poulpe:

Did you write the update for this aswell?

    TXG/MNX

Ps. what about a decompress routine for UPX files, seems that this algorythm is very fast and there is already an atari version for the compressor ;-)

  7. Hi, i'm very happy to give you two screenshoots of one of the games i'm working on, a shoot'em up called : Project Apocalypse.

A two players game, featuring my full Gpu sprite manager (SebRmv, be ready i will give very nearly a playable demo of this game ;) )

    - one Vbl game

    - 320*256 playfield

    - 16 bits graphics

and some others things you don't really need, because it's not very important for you and you have reason ;)

    GT Turbo (Jagware)

A few people will receive a playable demo for testing in few weeks.

Incredible !! Realy impressive you have done some hard work I can see... good quality...

Seems the French scene is very active on the Jaguar :)

  8. See here.

(Sorry Raz ;) - I created the topic on AtariAge because not all developers are Jagware members, so they cannot post replies here.)

I read it there, are you planning to make an API that can be used inside Visual Basic aswell ?

Yes, I know I am a lame coder but I am more creative in basic then in C

  9. serial port on jagcf.

This is something nice to have so we have a bug-free serial port, but I did buy all these jaglink, jaglink2 and catboxes and scatboxes and they will become useless  I think the bug of the atari jaguar needs to be solved aswell...

Aircars has also a pretty good networking protocol, the best protocol has Battlesphere...

Let's continue the search for the jaguar uart fix...
