  1. Announcement of the Atari Jaguar Europe Festival 2014

The Atari Jaguar Europe Festival, "ejagfest" in short, takes place on November 15th and 16th of this year in Duisburg (near Düsseldorf), Germany. We celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Atari Lynx this year which has been released 25 years ago in 1989.

The Atari Jaguar Europe Festival is an annual festival for all Atari Jaguar and Lynx fans, developers and retailers. Open-minded fans of other video game systems are welcome, too.

The „Atari Jaguar Europe Festival is a meeting of retro gaming fans from all over Europe. The focus of attention is Atari and all consoles of the cult lable. All of you who would like to play again on systems like the Jaguar, Lynx, VCS 2600, 5200, 7800 or on a trusty homecomputer of the 80s, this is the right place.

Retro games, homebrew announcements / presentations, prototypes believed to be lost and demos of all kind can be experienced on the ejagfest. Developers from all over Europe regularly take the opportunity to present their new developments on the festival, and sometimes even have exclusive items for sale. Another highlight was the presentation of the only working “High-res Jaguar Virtual Reality Headset” in existence, which was shown for the first time in Europe on the ejagfest in the year 2007.

Competitions such as “Club Drive” or “Kasumi Ninja” make sure everyone has a fun time. Next to these fun competitions, the official European championship in “Checkered Flag” for the Lynx is taking place each year. To make the event complete there are retro game retailers to offer Jaguar/Lynx titles and a variety of other retro games and systems.

I will be there, anyone else ?

  2. Hi,

I got a laptop with win 8.1 x64 I can use RLN but RMAC is throwing an error that it's incompatible with 64-bit windows.

Could this be fixed so it would work ?

  3. Patches welcome. :)

On second thought, unless that patch is a source code macro, don't bother. ;)

Could you write a pre-processor to fix gpu code like the macro's in smac did ?

  4. I heard smac was capable to produce better GPU assembler output, but I cannot find changes things added to this assembler any link or document ?

I am not sure what you define as better, as I recall some of the changes he implement in addition to general bug fixes was to make it easier to run GPU in main. I have not read the full topics but a quick AA search show that the following may provide the information you are looking for

    http://atariage.com/forums/topic/166190-ol...n-vs-smacvlink/

Alternatively Dr Typo may know, as I recall he made some post SubQMod changes/bug fixes to SLN and SMAC

    This what I meant indeed.

But is .GPUMAIN addding all you need to allow code run perfectly from main ram ?

Are there other new things, i read something about macro's maybe someone can write a small document what's new in SMAC.

  5. Virustotal (a meta-virus scanner that checks files using several dozens of commercial antivirus engines) tells me that both the site and the file itself are clean. So it's probably a false positive. Use another browser ;)

Nice find, this Atari GCC version 2.6 seems to be something I haven't seen before.

Any chance someone can make an example program in C that would make use of 68K, GPU and DSP ?

I did compare both directory's seems the file sizes are different from both releases. What I remember from long ago was that I was reading the compiler from the jagcc archive was not that good but maybe the other version in the other archive works better, because it seems the full GCC is in there...

    So something to investigate :-)

  6. Lets celebrate 20 Years Atari Jagaur!

The ejagfest takes place on the 23rd and 24th of November 2013 in Duisburg - Germany.

The Atari Jaguar Europe Festival is an annual festival for all Atari Jaguar and Lynx fans, developers and retailers. Open-minded fans of other video game systems are welcome, of course.

    I hope I see you there ....

  7. The only way to recover from the 'network crash' is to reset the Jaguars.

If I remember rightly, ggn and sh3 were trying to play some of the hacked

Doom II levels that I did. Some of them are larger and more complex than

the original levels, but I doubt this would have had any ill effect on the

already bugged network code.. extra data due to the larger more complex

    levels.

    Thanks for the info :)

Is this topic dead or has someone done some more testing or maybe did found a good solution ?

Secondly did one of you manage to patch doom to be more stable ?

  8. Not directly, as the network will not be based on Ethernet and TCP/IP.

But it could be implemented by connecting the JagCF (through USB) to a computer with an Internet connection, and running a "gateway" program on the computer.

aarrchh this solution is not nice, better to drive an ethernet box like lantronics or such directly from the jaguar. These are rs232c > ethernet convertor boxes... very cheap on ebay and work great. simple commands let you connect to another system over tcp/ip need only 1 port nr. The tcp/ip stack is in the box so don't worry about it. I did use it on my Atari 8-bit with serial interface and terminal package, connected to my provider and used PINE to read my e-mail overthere :)
