  1. ..could anyone give a short english recapitulation of what you people have come up with so far? ...Im just qurious... And preferable if anyone tested it in real life with code (and not just theory.... because in theory I have a good understanding of what causes the error.. but my experience shows that theory & practise dont realy mix).

    Thanx!

    /Sym

I haven't tested in real life even in theory, perhaps someone else like SCPCD or Zerosquare.

  2. [English]

By the way, do the Atarists really need the BJL part, which seems to work fine for them using the parallel port ? It would maybe be interesting to create another, JagCF-only add-on...

Bjl is not interresting as you has said, we want only a (very) fast upload, that's all !!

  3. I was thinking about something like using STE/Falcon joy extended ports, because of the speed, and it was easy to use. Because we don't know for Ethernat card, and in this case of thing only Falcon+CT60+Ethernat users can do Jag coding, that's too limit ;)

  4. That's a nice question Zero ;)

But it's only for 24 bit mode, i don't know if somebody want to use it, too much problems and restrictions. And you know what ? Not enough people can see the difference between 8 and 16 millions of colors, except you ( ;) )

I don't know if this modify something in other video mode, but you've seen it, and Atari was a specialist in this kind of thing :P

    [English]

and a fast communication mode for the JagCF (up to 3 megabits per second).

[*]The software will be provided with sources, and will be compatible with (at least) Windows 9x/2000/XP and Linux.

SCPCD do you think we can do a little adaptater for Atari micro, because i want to continue to use my Falcon for Jag coding, i'm ready to do the Atari software ;)

  6. In parallel to the JagCF, Zerosquare is working on a new modul called : JagWire.

This is an add-on to the JagCF allowing to use USB port for upload to the Jag, i have seen a little demo, that runs nice and more fastly than the original one. Good work Zerosquare ;)

Zerosquare if you can post a little photo, that will be very nice :flowers:

    [french]

:flowers:

  7. This week end some Jagware members has gone near Paris, in a little city called Congis-sur-therouanne, where the A...i Connexion has taken place.

SCPCD has done the first public demo of the Jag CF, let's have a look on some photos :

    DSCF0030.JPG PICT0145.JPG PICT0146.JPG

That will give you a little freeze when you see that you need less than 4 seconds for loading 4 Megabytes !!

And the streaming audio demo, that rocks !! Imagine 44 Khz 16 bit stereo streaming that will give you a lot of new possibilities for new sound track !!

and the PS2 support, using a PS2 mouse without anything to add or modify in the Jag !! Some new adventures games can born !!

Some germans people come on at this nice party : Twh, Krad and Lotek Style of TSCC, hope Ray you can come with next time, we will be very happy to meet you ;)

Thanks to all the Retro Gaming team for this beautiful week end and see you for the next party !!

  8. [*]AFAIK, the majority of coders here only use pure ASM, so they probably won't be able to help either (don't ask GT Turbo what he thinks of C, for example :P )

Zerosquare is allright, don't ask me for C problems, perhaps Cts can help you.

BTW, I saw your group's demo (the one with the sung lyrics) at the AC ; I was really amazed, it's truly an art piece

Zerosquare is talking about Beams :)

  10. What? ....are you saying that ALN created ~3times as big code? ...(compiling the exact same code as on devpac)?....

If i assemble the same code with MadMac (Without linking), the .PRG will do 300 Kilobytes, i think there is labels in for linking, that's why it's big, but after linking the .PRG will do only 146 Kbytes ( )

If you can check out the difference between the 2 codes and see what differs that would be nice to know.

    regards

I will try to do it but only after the Atari Connexion, because i have too much code to finish ;)

  11. Yesterday, i have asked SebRmv to give me some infos bout using Aln, and some clues about Atari Dev Kit.

It was because Devpac cannot align code on some boundaries (The CNOP directive isn't implemented  ) like 4,8,16 and i have just done one try. Because before i do everything with Devpac even 68000 assembling, just Gpu code was done with MadMac and included in my sources, but when i have used Atari Kit, one surprise between Devpac Prg and Aln Prg some kilobytes of difference :

    Devpac : 46 Kbytes

    Atari Kit : 146 Kbytes

Ouch !! So when you use Bjl uploader you're waiting a little bit more when using Atari Kit than Devpac !!
