Une personne m'a dit que la news précédente peut sembler dur pour quelqu'un qui ne connait pas l'esprit Jagware, n'en soyeux pas éffrayé, c'est uniquement car nous voulons le meilleur de et pour la Jag et ce dans les meilleures conditions, ceci explique cela.

Jagware is ONLY a website development for the Jaguar nothing else, if you want to do games on Jagware, you're welcome, if not please don't register. One people told me, that the previous news can be hard for people who don't know the Jagware team or mind, don't be afraid by the previous one, that's only because we want to give the best of the Jag in the best conditions, that's why we do that.

With the Jag CF, we can easily deal any programs for the Jag, even people who haven't got Bjl Jag can launch it, so after the TNG team, that's SebRmv (Removers) who has done a little demo for the Jag, so one question, do you think a mega demo on Jag it's possible ?
Which crew or people will be ok for writing a screen for it ?
This is only a question for seeing if they have enough people on the Jag scene for doing one mega demo

just a little question, since the GPU has the double speed of the 68k, can we say that 2 GPU cycle = 1 68k cycle ? so for example: the GPU can do 2 instruction of 4cycle in the same time the 68k do one instruction taking 4 cycles ? I think it would be quite useful to take advantage of this timing, so the 68k don't have to waste time waiting for the GPU to finish and can do other useful stuff.You can't, because 'Pipeline', a lot of instructions only take only 1 cycle and some are done in parallel (Div, ...) so you can approximatevely count like that, but the Gpu is too fast, for real couting !!

The worst thing in doing a game is not writing the code No ! Doing graphics perhaps ? No, they're enough good graphics artists here, doing some sounds perhaps too ? NO.
Two things GAMEPLAY and LEVEL DESIGN, that's two things, that a coder don't know anything for sure, for people who want to write a game, please ask some people for helping you because it's a very important thing, i haven't any real idea what it is, that
Why doing a slow scroll ? Why using a little shoot and not a big one ? All this kind of things, there are a lot of things, you don't take care, but it's very important things, don't forget that, else your game will be a big shit...

Tant que tout le monde retrouve ses petits. J'avouerais que le fait que n'importe qui peut modifier la base reveille mon coté paranoïaque...D'accord avec AZ, faudrait garder un oeil dessus, les docs Atari c'est assez suffisant pour se faire c.... pour éviter que des petits malins en rajoute dans le wiki, sinon c'est ok pour moi.

euh, sorry GT, but do you REALLY use O_BRHALF branch objects ?if not, this makes absolutely no difference to say it is bits 14-15 or 14-16...
moreover, my doc is more recent than yours (28 february 2001) so I doubt they volontarily introduce this bug at the documentaztion level ...

You're right Seb, no O_BRHALF objects in my sprite manager. But bit 14 until 16 give 3 bits so 0 to 7 is possible to have a 4. Bit 14 until 15 give as you has said, 0 to 3 so no 4

GT Turbo m'en avait parlé et j'ai fini par trouver ou etait ce fameux bit de RMW, par contre quand je l'active ça me fait rien sur l'emulateur (ecran noir), et d'apres la description de la doc et les sources de l'emulateur virtual jaguar, ça ne fonctionne quand mode CRY16.quelqu'un a t'il déja essayer d'activer ce fameux bit pour voir ce que ça fait ?
visiblement ça additionne les couleurs du sprite sur le line buffer, et ça fait une saturation ! ce qui est très interessant pour faire certain effet, quand on vois comment ça ram en essayant de faire ça même au GPU pixel par pixel

Ca fonctionne en RVB, mais cela peut faire des effets bizzares, je l'utilises actuellement sur un jeu, je vais le retirer car en RVB ca fait pas pareil qu'un CRY (Supposition, du a la structure des points). Tu affiches tes sprites avec ce bit placé et tu n'as aucun sprite a l'écran ?

GT Turbo told me about it a few days ago, and I finally found were this bit should be activated (in the first phrase of the sprite object). I tried that on the emulator (PT) and all I got was a black screen. reading the doc and the source code of the Virtual Jaguar emulator, it seems that it only work in CRY16 mode, I tried both CRY16 and RGB16 but it doesn't work on PT, so, does anyone had already tried this blending mode ?it seems to add the sprite pixel to the line buffer and saturate the color, so we have blending feature for free, and it can be great for some effect (and a lot faster than doing that per pixel even using the GPU, (yes, I tried .. ^^))
That run in RGB, i use it in a game, but i will kill it because in RGB that run not very good, like in CRY (I think, due to the pixel structure). Do you display it with RMV bit set and nothing on the screen ?

Bug de la doc, perso sur ma doc j'ai bit 14-16 ce qui fait 3 bits, donc c'est bon et cela est correct sinon mon gestionnaire de sprites ne fonctionnerais pas

en parlant de branch object, ça serais possible d'avoir un peu plus d'explication sur les fameux 2 branch object qu'il faut avoir en debut de liste d'apres toi ?ça donne quoi probleme visuellement si on a pas ces 2 branch object ?
Ces deux branch objects permettent d'arreter le décodage de ta liste si Ypos est inférieur ou supérieur au VC (Compteur vertical), visuellement si tu les a pas, certains sprites peuvent perdre des lignes, quand tu as plusieurs sprites cela se vois pas, mais essaie avec un, la première fois que j'ai affiché une liste sans ces deux bras, mon premier avait quelques lignes en moins au début de celui ci

About branch objects, can i have some explanations about the two in the beginnning of the list ?What got on the screen, if they're not in ?
This two branch objects can stop the list display if the Ypos is greater or lower than the VC (Vertical Counter), if you try to display a OP list without them, some sprites can lost some lines.

Hi Dan,
I understood what do you want, but on Jagware we want to do surprise, that's why anything about projects in progress is displayed on public forum.
We don't want to say x new games will come and after for differents reasons, we can't finished it. Too many people do it for some years ago and we think the Jaguar community have enough of this kind of announcement and nothing will come. That's why everything is underground
If the team leader of each project want to say something about his project(s) he can
But if nobody will respons don't be afraid, that's the rules, if you dev you can do what you want
