Perhaps porting the TOS on Jaguar can be a good thing, with that we can use all 'properly' written programs. But the Vdi and Aes part will be a little hard, especially if we want to use Jag possibilities.
Perhaps i can use Devpac on my Jaguar
in the futur who knows...GT

5 projects must keep you busy!Yes a lot !! (But one is STE only, one for all Atari computers and three (I forgot one), 4 are Jag games)
Would you be available in the near future for any small amount of time, or could you let me know when you are able to contribute? At the moment, I don't think CVS is necessary, being the only coder. That may change when a team is assembled.

When one project will be finished, i will start another one, the next one finished, we can work together on Native if you want

If anyone here is interested in working on Native source in an online team fashion for the Atari Jaguar, please get back to me. I am trying to find enough interest to create a team and this is an open invitation to anyone interested. Also, I would like to know any input on how to set up a "Virtual Team," if anyone has experience... knows of websites with examples... what worked and what did not? I've been reading up on the subject and have some ideas how to go about it, but it's always good to know what other people are thinking too.
Hi,
I'm interrested by working on, but at this time i can't work on because i'm working on 5 projects.....
On Jagware for working on projects, we use 'private room'. That means private forum, where only allowed people can see and post on and like Matthias has said using CVS can help too.

Hi,because MiNT is mainly a replacement for GEMDOS, you need also a BIOS/XBIOS (hardware driver) to run MiNT. A MiNT on my TT runs on top of TOS and uses the BIOS and XBIOS of TOS. So you have to start with a port of TOS. You can start with EmuTOS which is a free replacment for TOS. But if you want to run GEM on top of MiNT, you need also a AES replacement like N.AES, XAAES or MyAES and video drivers for the jaguar video system.
I think, a port of MiNT is not difficult. I think, most of the work is writing a BIOS and XBIOS for the jaguar hardware. But because of not much RAM i see not much sense in use a multitasking TOS like MiNT. It is only usefull, if you want to use the driver system and(or networking (xif, xdd, xfs)
Best Regards
Michael Bernstein
BIOS and XBIOS can be rewritten for the Jaguar, under JagCF system, we got additionnal memory ram, mouse and keyboard support, so we can rewrit it without a lot of problems, for AES and VDI that will be a little be harder but i think it's possible.

porting:...is it possible in an easy way? ...some text-parsing thing is not my cup of tee, but rather a dc.b + jsr's that do stuff with a list of spritepositions.
writing our own:well the idea is good.. so one might have to do this to get a "jaguar version".. for mximum speed..
compatibility woudl perhapps be nice (dont know what one could get for free from that engine.so)
For parsing i can write it in 68000 and it give a dc.b list, that's not a problem, except that will be a 68000 parser, so useable on a ST or a Falcon or on a PC under emulator. Because i'm a very big lamer in C

Yes a Jaguar version with maximun speed, if we take this decision, the only thing is which commands to implement ?
The first 'shoot manager' code will be written in 68000 and after a Dsp or Gpu version will be ported from the 68000 code, that's the fastest technic.

Hi everybody,
Some days ago Mariaud give me this link :
http://www.asahi-net.or.jp/~cs8k-cyu/bulletml/index_e.html
This is a shoot manager. I use the same kind of system for Opale (Ennemies trajectory manager). So i think a lot of people can be interrested by this kind of thing on Jaguar, so i have open this thread for talking about and writing it.
The first question is doing a porting of this one ? Or write another one ?

People are trying to sell Atomic (Jaguar game) on E bay, that's not illegal, but don't buy it too at a high price because Atomic is a free game, if you want it, you can download all (Game+Dvd cover) on the Removers website :
http://removers.free.fr/softs/download.php?lang=en
I think that DiamJag will surely be available one days on E bay, but for informations, this game is free too, you can donwload it here :
